From 4th to 8th December 2017 our school was the host of an international Erasmus+ 'Hands in Hands' working session. On those days we hosted the students and teachers from Turkey, Romania, Croatia and Portugal. It gave us the opportunity to share many joyful moments within group project wokshops, as well as during the time spent with the hosting Polish families and the friends. Each day was different, yet very interesting and full of various activities.

Day 1 (Monday, 4th December)

The international meeting started by welcoming the guests in the main hall of our school with the school's head teacher Jan Rychlicki. Next the guests had a tour around our school in two groups – teachers and students. We tried to show our guests as much as possible from our place. We visited the physiotherapy room, Tomatis therapy room, acrobatics classroom. We also had
a short look at the common room, the classrooms and the school gym, where we saw the opening ceremony of a 'Christmas Fitness Marathon'. We tried to present the school's everyday life, the teachers and the students. On that day we also visited the City Council and had a talk with the city's vice-president Karol Semik – we discussed the project and its results so far. The vice-president told us about the educational system in Poland, about the system's reform, about the city and about how he became Radom's vice-president.

The rest of the day we spent at school, discussing the Polish educational system and watching a film about the past projects carried out in our school.

Day 2 (Tuesday,5th December).

The next day meant further project work. We took part in a special English lesson.  Then, in international groups we prepared a game calendar for the year 2018.

The afternoon was full of cultural events. We saw a play 'Cinderella', prepared by our students. Then we watched video clips about the games, which were made by our visitors. After lunch our guests learnt more about Christmas traditions. We all watched a Nativity play and met an unexpected guest – Santa Claus, who brought presents for all the good kids. Luckily, we were all good this year

Day 3 (Wednesday,6th December).

On that day we had classes outside the school and far from Radom, too. We went on a trip to Poland's capital and proudly showed Warsaw to our guests. Although the weather was not that good, we had
a walk along the streets of the new part of the city, and the older parts as well. The guide told us the essential facts concerning the history of Warsaw.

Our guests saw the places which were connected to the topic of WWII, and watched the city's panorama from a balcony of the Palace of Science and Culture. They also admired the Old Town and bought some souvenirs. Of course, there was time for some fun, too. We spent a few hours in the Kopernik Science Centre.

Day 4 (Thursday, 7th December).

As our school is a conductive education place, where about 150 students with different disabilities learn, we showed our guests what therapeutical activities are run here. They could actively participate in these classes. After that, we went to Public Primary School in Zakrzew.

The members of the folk group „Zakrzewiaki” presented some folk dances and taught us the basic steps of „polonaise” dance during a short workshop. Our guests could check their singing and dancing skills and see folk costumes from our region.

After the workshop we made Christmas decorations and decorated a Christmas tree altogether.
Finally we had a treat of home-made freshly baked bread with lard and pickles or with jam and honey
(for a sweet tooth).

Afterwards, we went to the Agricultural School in Radom where an archery club PTG 'SokóÅ‚' is also located. Along with the coach and some leading archers, we had a short archery training. Next, we competed with each other in an archery tournament. Even though it was quite tough, we had a great time with lots of fun. Each person received a specially carved wooden medal in the end.

Day 5 (Friday, 8th December).

All good things come to an end. It was only just one history lesson, one robotics class (for the younger ones) and activity therapy workshops (for the older) and it was time to evaluate our week's work and plan future activities.

The final part of the visit included handing out certificates of participation to all the guests, written acknowledgement diplomas to the hosting families and having a 'sweet treat' goodbye party.

Nobody left Radom empty-handed. Each group took the project flag with them, a copy of our 2018 games calendar, which we made during workshops, and lots of good memories.

During the last walk along Radom we all visited historic places of our city: the prehistoric Piotrówka hill, the Old Town, St. Catherine's church and the city's main street. It was a busy week, but a good one, too.
